Our Launch Event at BuildHer HQ

On a rainy Northcote evening, Style Scout Events hosted our very first industry event and it was exactly the kind of rewarding, pinch-me moment that reminded us why we started. With sponsors, supporters, partners and friends all in the room, we officially launched a new concept of events created specifically for the Design, Architecture and Construction industries: experiences that feel meaningful, memorable and genuinely worth leaving the studio for.

We welcomed our guests into the BuildHer Collective HQ, a space that instantly set the tone. Surrounded by mood boards, material libraries and tactile finishes, the venue felt like stepping inside a creative process, which was perfect for an event designed to spark inspiration and conversation. We teamed up with BuildHer after they reached out with a shared passion for supporting the industry and opening their doors to events that represent what we believe industry gatherings should be: fun, inclusive, educational and inspiring.

The atmosphere was warm and buzzing from the start, even if the weather wasn’t. A tiled bench became our bar for the night, serving wine, beer and plenty of non-alcoholic options, but the crowd favourite was clear: our signature cocktails. The chilli margarita, with a chilli salt rim and dried pepper garnish, brought the kick, while the passionfruit martini delivered the sweet, celebratory sip that somehow ended up in everyone’s hand at least once.

Food was equally show-stopping. Guests tucked into lobster rolls as the hero main, complemented by a generous grazing table of charcuterie and gourmet finger food by The Plenty. And because no great night ends without dessert, we finished with a table of handmade treats plus chocolate-covered strawberries that disappeared faster than we could replenish them.

A highlight moment, and the perfect photo magnet, was our sponsor media wall, featuring our launching partners: Classic with a Twist, Union Supply Co., Ajar Furniture, Alessandra Smith Design, GroupGSA, Allegra Interiors and Phoenix Interiors. Framing the wall was a beautiful white floral installation sponsored by trusted supplier Sarah from Wild in Love Florals and Lil Blume, our go-to for both our design events and bridal branch.

The media wall also set the scene for speeches. Our founder, Leia, introduced the vision behind Style Scout Events: to create a more meaningful way for the industry to connect, educate and feel inspired, especially after Covid lockdowns and the cancellation of previously loved gatherings. Phoenix Tapware then announced the giveaway winners, with sample kits for the design community and a grand prize that had the room cheering.

With 60 attendees, from brands and sponsors to designers, including studios like Mitchell and Eades and Wildflower, and media such as Australian Design Review, our first event achieved exactly what we set out to do: showcase our partners, introduce the Style Scout Events concept, and prove that industry events can be more than “just networking.”

This was only the beginning. We’re here to build elevated yet accessible experiences for people who truly love good design and even better moments.
